The United Steelworkers have ratified a new 3-year deal with U.S. Steel (X). The deal, which cover over 16K workers, provides for a 4.5% wage hike over the next 3 years, while protecting healthcare benefits for retirees. A tentative agreement had been reached earlier this month.

The United Steelworkers (USW) union will continue to negotiate with ArcelorMittal (MT) and U.S. Steel (X) after labor contracts expired at midnight last night. USW, which represents 26,000 workers at the companies, said that employees are continuing to work at ArcelorMittal, with neither a lockout or strike being declared.
